1966
The first Desjoyaux pool was born
Jean Desjoyaux, then a masonry contractor, built his first swimming pool to provide his children with a vacation spot at home.
1978
A revolution with multiple benefits: the active permanent formwork
The first patent for the active permanent formwork is filed. This innovation ensures the solidity and longevity of the structure while beginning to offer greater creativity in pool design. The size and shape of our pools result from the assembly of panels, which then form the “active permanent formwork” of the structure.
1983
A major innovation: pipeless filtration
The first patent for filtration is filed—a major and revolutionary innovation in the world of swimming pools. Installed as a saddle on the pool wall, the filtration system concept consists of an “immersed filter unit” that also integrates the projector and a “technical unit” embedded in the deck.
1989
The Desjoyaux pool becomes more beautiful and more zen.
Thanks to the Roman Filtrant staircase, access to the pool is facilitated, the filtration can be cleverly concealed within it, and the blower (whirlpool) introduces hydrotherapy into the pool.
1990
A historic investment
The investment of 50 million francs and the construction of a new factory enable the industrialization of pool construction. This marks the beginning of formwork injection, which results in reduced production costs and the ability to create pools of all shapes and sizes.
1992
Innovative stairs for a lower price
The production of access stairs using thermoformed materials, thanks to a new molding technique, allows for the replacement of concrete and significantly reduces the construction costs of a pool.
1993
Counter-current swimming: the pool becomes a gym
The creation of the counter-current swimming system allows you to transform your pool into a gym without it needing to be the size of an Olympic pool.
1994
Beautiful pools, also at low prices!
The filter panels and rotomolded stairs allow for a further reduction in construction costs, making pool ownership more accessible.
1997
A pool for less than 50,000 francs!
The America pool, with its ovoid shape, saddle filtration, R176 staircase, and dimensions of 8 m x 4 m, becomes the first pool available for under 50,000 francs. Since its inception, Desjoyaux has had a genuine commitment to democratizing pool ownership.
2000’s
New industrial techniques for your savings
Between 2001 and 2010, Desjoyaux innovated and developed new industrial techniques for injecting all pool components (staircase, saddle-mounted filtration unit, integrated systems, etc.). These new components reduce the cost of pools.
2011
LEDs in all colors
The JD Pool Led swimming pool projector offers 10 light programs (6 fixed and 4 variable). With its 11 LEDs, it provides powerful lighting in both colors and white. A festive illumination for unforgettable evenings.
2015
The floating pool, a world exclusive
Desjoyaux presents MOBIPOOL, the floating pool that can be installed on an existing body of water. A world exclusive made by Desjoyaux, MOBIPOOL allows you to dive into a natural water area without algae and other small nuisances. Now available in France for individuals, Desjoyaux has also sold the concept to several companies worldwide.

Launch of the kit pool
A new range of kit pools and 30 additional stores in France… Desjoyaux extends the pool dream for all French people.

The active permanent formwork
Originating from a patent filed in 1978 by Mr. Jean Desjoyaux, the active permanent formwork allows for the rapid installation of a pool structure composed of pre-assembled recycled polypropylene panels. Once installed on-site, they are filled with concrete and reinforced in a single operation. The result of this patent is a pool that withstands the test of time, with the possibility of creating various shapes and numerous pool sizes.
The pipeless filtration system
Inspired by outboard boat motors, the exclusive Desjoyaux system patented in 1983 is designed without piping! No more lengthy and costly work of burying pipes and creating a technical room. Zero buried pipes and fewer risks of leaks! The filtration unit integrated into the pool wall or mounted as a saddle on the structure contains all the filtration elements.
More ecological and responsible pools
Thanks to our exclusive filtering media, our pools use only 36 liters of water per year, compared to 750 liters for a traditional sand filter (for a 35 m³ pool). Moreover, our pipeless filtration reduces electricity consumption by half on average.
